Thanks, but i read the movie

Caroline and I are planning to see The Ice Harvest later tonight, a book i first encountered several years ago. I have a low tolerance for bad fiction so I’m gunshy and don’t read lots of novels without trusted recommendations.

The Ice Harvest was a relatively short trade paperback – noir and not a best seller, but good. Now inevitably the book will be rereleased in mass market paperback with Billy Bob and Cusack on the cover and some “as seen in theaters so buy me” headline blaring out from the top of the edition. [Note: yup, here it is]

Is it petty for me to feel somewhat superior for having the original copy? Maybe that would be a good snobby rule: If you have a book in your bookcase with a scene from a movie or the photo of an actor on the cover you are NOT a reader.
