I Don’t Know Who You Are Marko Nichols-Marcy But You’re My DJ

Marko Nichols-Marcy, I don’t know who you are, but I follow your 2012 Rap playlist on Spotify. Maybe you’re a hip French DJ, or maybe you’re a kid in Akron. I don’t know. I do know that I find lots of good new music from you. That I click on email alerts telling me you’ve added 30 new songs. That if you added commentary to the tracks, I’d read it.

Marko, you have 95 subscribers to your playlist. I don’t know if you ever think of us. Or if one day you’ll be able to see which of the songs you’ve curated we like the most. I don’t know if you’ll ever be celebrated on Spotify as a tastemaker. But I do know that Spotify benefits from your work.
Marko, the future is going to look a lot like you. Folks I don’t know personally who are making sense of the volumes of content. Maybe you’ll do it for fun. Maybe for profit. Maybe a brand will hire you to be their voice on Spotify.
Marko, I don’t know who you are but by listening to your playlist, I’m connected. Thanks.
