Yeah, I try to keep it close, but some are awfully spammy for me to follow.
The total number of followers has to equal the total number of followees. If most Twitter users are followers, then a few Twitter users have to be quite the followees. I wonder if they’re spammers or Scobles. To get a sense of whether these folk are “popular” we need to get some samples of people on either side of the boundary (maybe more than a standard deviation away, to avoid noise) and examine them.
